The presence of cranes has increased in recent years in the National Park of Lake Kerkini. From one person in the late 80’s, there are now dozens of people every year.
The first birds are usually observed in September, while the maximum number is usually in February (when returning to the breeding areas). Several times 1-2 people have been observed in late spring. This year, for the first time, one person has stayed in the area so far (helping the lower water level compared to previous years). In the coming years it will be seen if there will be continuity.
